have just received word that I have passed all of this years
assessments and only now have my portfolio (based on self directed
learning with an emphasis of putting "into practice" that which
has been taught on the course) to complete and submit by August
this year. If my portfolio makes the grade I will be awarded the
post graduate diploma in palliative care from Glasgow
University..................

........As a minister of religion I share with people on an intimate level to their joys and sorrows. The course of studies has help me to be more sensitive and able to emphasise with those who seek my help and to offer them constructive counseling. The studies of bereavement were particularly useful as I regularly deal with those facing death and with the bereaved.. This has acted as a fresher course and an opportunity for me to update my professional skills. It has also enabled me to become more self-aware and to look into my attitudes towards suffering. I have learned more about the palliative care of terminally ill and of the needs pf the surrounding family and friends.
