	........Thank you for the generous bursary for £400.00 which the Trust has awarded me towards the cost of the British Medical Acupuncture Association Foundation Course with special care in palliative care. The foundation course began with a historical overview of traditional acupuncture which can be traced back at least 3000 years...................this will help to build the knowledge I have already gained and enable me to offer effective treatment to patients at the hospice where I am employed as a nurse. 	........As a minister of religion I share with people on an intimate level to their joys and sorrows. The course of studies has help me to be more sensitive and able to emphasise with those who seek my help and to offer them constructive counseling. The studies of bereavement were particularly useful as I regularly deal with those facing death and with the bereaved.. This has acted as a fresher course and an opportunity for me to update my professional skills. It has also enabled me to become more self-aware and to look into my attitudes towards suffering.
