| The Trustees of the Fiona Dickson Memorial Trust regret that as the Trust is in a transitional stage they are no longer in a position to accept applications for bursaries. Bursaries already awarded will be honoured.
Recent awards have gone to nurses, doctors, social workers,
counsellors and clergy. Courses have included the Diploma in
Palliative Nursing Care, ENB Care of the Dying and their family,
Lymphoedema Awareness, Diploma in Counselling and a course for
Hospital and Hospice Chaplains. Applications are judged on their
individual merit with attention paid to motivation, career plans,
personal and financial circumstances as well as the nature of the
intended training.
The site
and booklet should be of great help to those who:
| |
 |
Propose to undertake further education or a recognised course
in palliative (or similar) care. |
| |
 |
Care for the terminally ill. |
| |
 |
Suspect, or have been diagnosed with a serious illness. |
| |
 |
Need compassionate assurance of how to come to terms with a
serious illness. |
| |
 |
Need understandable advice of how to come to terms with
treatments and options. |
| |
 |
Need compassionate advice in coming to terms with a
terminal illness. |
| |
 |
May comfort by advice from a person who experienced all of the
above and wished to help others. |
Please browse
the site and read about her work and the work of the Trust.
